Brow and Forehead Lifts raise sagging eyebrows and reduce ridges and furrows on the forehead, thus creating a smoother, more youthful appearance. This procedure is often performed in conjunction with facelift and eyelid surgeries. Either open or endoscopic approach is chosen based on the individuals anatomy and goals.
A brow-lift is performed by using an endoscope through small incisions made in the hairline. By lifting and repositioning tissue and muscles under the skin, eyebrows are elevated to a more youthful position and creases and furrows of the forehead are improved. Smaller incisions often allow more rapid recovery. Occasionally, in individuals with high forehead, further hairline elevation is undesirable. In such patients, a hairline incision allows brow elevation and excess skin removal at the incision site, thus preventing hairline elevation.
Any healthy non-smoking individuals with signs of aging in the brow region. Typical aging changes include sagging eyebrows with hooding of upper eyelids, forehead wrinkles, and frown lines between eyebrows. Patients should have specific but realistic goals in mind for the improvement in appearance.
